 About COLLIDE Festival

University of East London's Dance: Urban Practice degree students present COLLIDE Festival 2013. The current module we are working on consists of organising the University of East London's festival Collide 'Where dance meets performance'. It is a student run event and non-profit, therefore we are starting from scratch and we need your support!

COLLIDE is an ongoing dance festival held in the heart of East London, at Stratford Circus. For the past two years COLLIDE has been a one day event that gives students and outside artists a chance to display their work. This year we are aiming to promote 'Where dance meets performance' by harnessing the vast array of dance styles available in the UK - ranging from Contemporary and Popping to Capoeira and Bharatanatyam. We are looking to inspire young people by showcasing the varied styles available in dance.

A schedule announcing the day's event is yet to be released..... But we can tell you that COLLIDE will be packed with high energy dance performances from the UEL dance students, street art, battles, dance on screen, a symposium AND special guest acts!! Which can be found on our guest artist page.

Many fund raising activities have been taking place to help make our festival a huge success: tuck shops, student nights, bag packing and much more. However our most recent funding scheme is a campaign page set up via Dancefunder.com!! This launched on the 22nd March and has been doing very well so far, DanceFunder is The funding platform for Dance Projects' created by dance professional Kymberlee Jay.
